Certified Banker - CeB - Overview

Certified Banker (CeB) is the most prestigious examination-based professional qualification awarded by the Institute. It is awarded to those who have gained both the requisite educational standard and experience to operate effectively in managerial, supervisory, professional or specialist roles in banking and financial services.

Those who hold the designation are:

  • Entitled to use the title “'Certified Banker'”
  • Entitled to use designatory letters CeB after their name
  • Receive the Institute's Certified Banker scroll which confirms their right to use the title.

The launch of the Certified Banker designation provides a significant benchmark for organisations and individuals operating in this sector and their customers. For example, the Certified Banker designation:

  • Allows qualified individuals to have their knowledge and experience of Financial Services and their commitment to life-long learning validated by the Institute
  • Provides verification for employers and regulators regarding the knowledge and experience attained by existing and prospective staff
  • Provides additional insight for the public in assessing the knowledge and experience attained by the holder.

There is no application fee payable for designation as Certified Banker. Individual events, seminars, meetings, special publications etc. attended for Certified Banker CPD hours, either formal or informal, may incur a charge payable to the association or body running the event or publishing the material.
